Nexus

A crypto exchange built for Hackfest ’24 that watches the trader as well as the market: mood tracking, stress read from trade metrics, and nudges to step away.

Interface study: a Nexus trading screen with the market and the trader’s stress on one time axis, and a “Take ten?” nudge.
Interface study, 2026. Redesigned for this site with sample data. It is not the shipped app.

What I did

Built in a hackathon with Vinayak Rai, Priyesh Gupta and Aarsh Desai. I set up the Vite + React app and built the dashboard and coin pages, the stress metric, the market-volatility and trade-analysis routes, mood logging, and the educational content.

Who I made it with

Vinayak Rai, Priyesh Gupta, Aarsh Desai.

What it’s for

Most trading apps are designed to keep you trading. Nexus flipped that: it tracked mood, estimated stress from trading behaviour, suggested breaks and limits, and put education and risk tools next to the exchange.

Why it was hard

Turning “emotional well-being” into something software can act on, using signals a trading app already has, inside a hackathon clock.

Features

Emotional monitoring, interventions and safeguards, educational support, anxiety reduction and risk management, on top of a working exchange UI.

The original

The 2024 Nexus landing page: “Buy & Sell Digital Assets In The Nexus” with coin illustrations and a price ticker.

The screens above are the project as it was built. The study at the top of this page is a 2026 redesign made for this site.
